if anyone has thought about doing a track day.......do it!!

if you love LFS, then a day on track will blow your socks off BIGTIME!

im just jealous of the few here who race for real, you guys are so lucky.

i put a lap on youtube..........hope you enjoy watching it, and the real racers here dont pick me to bits too much for my effort!!!!

i could only pass in certain areas, and was told to be polite, hence all the waving!!!!!

maybe he should take a leaf out of DC's books.

either you believe him or not, but DC says he is stil in F1 because he loves to race and i admire him for that.

for me JB blew it big time over the williams/bar contract issue. as someone was quoted saying: "after the dust settles, what team would offer jenson a contract and expect him to honour it?" if he is stuck at honda with a crap car he only has himself to blame......deal with it.

i feel for all of you who has lost or is losing someone dear.

i have someone work related who has cancer and it cuts me up to think what may happen to them........and as silly as it sounds, i recently lost our family pet, who was more like a friend than an animal............in a way, grief can be your friend.

death is part of who we are, but it doesnt make it any easier to cope with. enjoy the time you have together, and when that person is gone, never forget them.. enjoy your memories, talk about them......that way they have not left you totally.

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :Are you the guy with the light blue cabby? And it's got the black and chrome alloys? If that is you, you got a really nice car there mate

Are you putting your car up for show, or are you just gonna have a looky round?

yes it is me......and thanks for the comment.

tbh, its not good enough for showing, needs a tidy, so im just going for the looky......and if i can, the blast around the track.i heard it was twenty quid per car.
a mate of mine is going too, he has just got himself a rs cossie escort, methinks he may get there before me!!!!

i cant hold with this "help me back on track" mindset..........if you have gone off and cant get going, then thats it.just my two cents.

close call for mclaren for releasing alonso, i hope the fia doesnt dock the driver points or whatever....he just responds to the lollypop man

lmao..didnt schummy have a face like a slapped arse when he gave RD the trophy! sore loser or what?

Quote from pb32000 :Lol what's sad is that people can't even master what's possibly the easiest bassline ever written

Don't remember seeing this thread before - I've played guitar for over 10 years now, both classical and electric. Got my grade 8 classical when I was 14 but have sadly let that slip in recent years.

Just play casually with friends/housemates now, mostly ska punk. Going to try moving back to classical soon though as its something I really enjoyed, but didn't appreciate enough when I was younger.

what a kind person you are........i didnt realise you are lord of all on high and the greatest musician ever, go kiss my ass.

Quote from Becky Rose :I dont know about most embarassing, there's been so many and my self defence mechanism helps me to forgt them... There's a story from recently though.

Before my last operation when I went to the hospital for the pre-op consultancy after arrival I went to the toilet. After standing up I thought i'd touch up the false face (do the makeup) and sat back down on the toilet with the seat down. Anyway at some point whilst in that toilet I sat on somebodies urine, and completely failed to realise not that I could do anything about it if I did.

Whilst in the waiting room I thought the person next to me smelt a bit of pee, then when I went into the consultancy room they asked me about any other problems I might have, such as incontinence. That's when I realised I could still smell pee.

Embrassed. Christ. I was glowing red.

big thankyou becky, that made me laugh so much!

heres mine.

20 odd years ago i was a glass cutter. i had made a glass table top for a customer. it was big and kidney shaped and being 6mm glass was quite heavy.
the customer, a lady, came to collect it. saw it, went "oh i cant lift that, would you put it in my car for me please?"

"no problem" was my reply.

she had a hatchback with the rear seats folded, but i had to get it in through the boot. im stood, legs spread, with this heavy peice of glass into my waist, bending into the car.

she is stood behind me...and due to the exertion, i let rip with a huge fart.

thinking quickly, i thought the best way to deal with it was to pretend it never happened.

it never did, did it???

Quote from sinkoman :I think that people dislike Lewis mainly because he's started in an A class car. I know that's primarily the reason I dislike him.

I also dislike him because of all the media attention he's receiving, and while I do realize he can't really control them, he could be a bit more humble about it i'd say. They portray him as the second coming of Senna, and he really seems to just soak it all up and play the part.

He's a great sportsman when it comes to the tarmac, but he needs to lose this mental media stigma he's been carrying.

perhaps im being a tad cynical here, but if scott speed had been doing what lewis has been doing, on, and off track, i wonder if you would have posted that?

Quote from Michael Denham :Yeah, it would have been much more interesting if there were close battles between Hamilton and Alonso as well as Massa and Raikonnen, as well as a few others further back. Oh wait, that DID happen.

I don't know why it's so fashionable to knock F1, but I really enjoyed the race. And same with Hamilton. It's cool to say, 'well he's good but I dunno how good he is', 'he didn't really impress me', etc. Well, he's been on the podium in every race, for two races in a row he's started from pole and won, and in this last race he held off the 2-times world champion without too many problems. Sure, all drivers in F1 are pretty damn good to even get in F1, but a lot of others would have made mistakes in the same situation Hamilton was in. And for this to be a boring race, well what needs to happen to make it an interesting one? There was action all the way through the race, lots of passing.

Maybe saying all F1 races are boring and not impressive is a way of making oneself feel better than others, like they need an even better race than everyone else in order to enjoy it, in some elitist kind of way. Or perhaps F1 is just not their cup of tea and should try something else.

Viper, this whole post is not directed at you personally, just my general feelings on the topic...the only part that was directed at you was the first bit about the second half of the race.

with all of the above, i agree 100%

once again, lewis showed what a class RACER he is.

as they say in Father Ted..........."go on, my son!"
